Amenities

There are a number of services at The Wexford Residences that are for the use of the full spectrum of our clients. Tenants, Residents and ASC members are welcome to take full advantage of them.

Tenant Meal Service

Limited Take-out Meals: Tenants can arrange to pick up a meal to eat in their own apartments giving 48 hours’ notice. Meals will be provided based on number of requests and availability. Notice and purchase of meal tickets are made through the receptionist.

Memory Lane Café – Coffee Kiosk

Come and socialize with fellow tenants, residents or friends and reminisce over a cup of coffee. Our volunteers are responsible for the daily operations of the café, with support from the Wexford staff. The Café is located on the main floor, and is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays, and 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on weekends. Enjoy a cup of coffee, along with a muffin, or tea biscuit. The kiosk also sells soup, sandwiches, water bottles, pop, milk, bread, stamps, and convenience items.

Computer Lab

A computer lab on the main floor provides an opportunity for tenants, residents and staff to have access to a computer, internet, and a printer.

Library

A volunteer managed library is located in the activity room.

Hair Salon

A Beauty Salon is located on the activity level and appointments can be made by signing up outside the Beauty Salon on the clipboards provided. Services are provided by two different stylists who are currently available on Mondays & Tuesdays per week.

Foot Care Clinic

A Foot Care Clinic is available once every two weeks. The charge nurse on each floor schedules the appointments.

Optometrist

An optometrist visits the facility on a monthly basis. Appointments are scheduled through the receptionist or the charge nurse on each floor.

Shopping Bus

A Shopping Bus is available to take ASC members to a shopping mall every Thursday with two groups shopping on alternate weeks. You have to pay the transportation cost to the bus service provider.

Outdoor Garden

Our outdoor garden is a place of beauty during the summer months. A relaxing fountain, the sweet smell of flowers blooming and a park-like setting provide the perfect ambiance for reading a book, conversing with friends or just to sit back and relax. We also hold many barbecues, concerts and other events in our garden.

Special Function Facilities

The Wexford Residence offers many common areas that can be booked for special events on a first come first serve basis. Special events, such as family gatherings, anniversaries, birthday parties, can be booked in either the Activity Room, the Mezzanine, the Adjuvant Room or the Conference Room, dependent upon the size of the group. At this time, The Wexford Residence has waived fees related to booking rooms for residents, tenants and family members. Rooms are to be used only for events that are directly associated with the Resident/Tenant. Please note that in the future, this may be subject to change.

In the event of an unforeseen emergency such as an “outbreak”, or a high priority function, we reserve the right to cancel room bookings to facilitate these events. We will make every effort to provide reasonable notice of cancellation or change, and to 1) identify an alternate room, or 2) provide an alternate meeting date and/or time, if an alternate room is not available or acceptable.

Worship Centre

The Wexford has its own chapel located on the ground floor of the building. There are three regularly scheduled ministers who make an effort to see anyone who may need or want a special visit. Anyone belonging to faiths other than those represented by the Pastoral service committee are encouraged to attend the services of their choice outside of the centre.

The Wexford respects the individual faith and spiritual values of every resident and tenant. A number of services are available. Depending on availability other denominations would also be welcome.
